According to a recent EU communication, the use and risk of chemical pesticides decreased by 46% compared to 2015-2017. Miraculous, for it contradicts Eurostat's pesticide sales data which show no clear decrease in pesticide use.

The EU needs better protection of its water, but representatives of Member States don’t seem to understand. Water quality in the EU is protected by different laws, which are not currently respected.

Most conventional strawberries are not suitable for children. That is concluded by PAN Netherlands after testing 15 samples for pesticides. One to three different PFAS pesticides were present on 69% of the strawberries.

Spraying pesticides on crops from small planes or helicopters is explicitly prohibited by law.

This week the EU committee on pesticides SCoPAFF will discuss and vote on the renewal of two very toxic pesticides. Both proposals contradict EFSA’s scientific conclusions. Captan is one of the most used fungicides in Europe.

The new Eurobarometer on Europeans and the environment is out. The results are very clear: 84% of EU citizens are worried about harmful chemicals. The same percentage agrees EU legislation is necessary to protect the environment.
