Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (EDCs) are biologically active chemicals that can mimic or disturb hormones in our bodies. This can lead to poor health and the development of disease. Especially the unborn and young children are vulnerable. Exposure at the wrong moment can cause serious and permanent damage, at an extremely low dose. EDCs are of a diverse origin and use: industrial chemicals, plastic components, components of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and pesticides. We focus on the removal of endocrine-disrupting pesticides. Many pesticides have endocrine-disrupting pesticides and are directly sprayed on our food and fields. Residues on food are much above the safe level for the most vulnerable. For this kind of chemicals, there is no safe level of residue. They should be banned from our food, but the chemical industry and reluctant authorities have been delaying efficient action for many, many years.
See our page on delay and developments in regulating Endocrine disrupting pesticides.
We take part in the Coalition for an EDC Free Europe (see website with a lot of information and updates on all kinds of EDSc)
